LIVE FROM THE UNION BUILDINGS: Zuma resigns as president of South Africa

accreditation

President Jacob Zuma will address the nation at 22:00 on Wednesday, as speculation mounts that he will announce his resignation following a lengthy meeting of the National Executive Committee on Monday, and an announcement on Wednesday that the ANC will support a motion of no confidence. Watch.

On Tuesday the NEC briefed the media at Luthuli House to announce their findings.

ANC secretary general Ace Magashule confirmed the party's 'final' decision to recall President Jacob Zuma, though no specific deadline was given for Zuma to tender his resignation. Magashule stated that the president "would respond on Wednesday."
