A woman managed to slip a note to veterinary staff after her boyfriend allegedly held her at gunpoint for two days during which he assaulted her.

The unnamed 28-year-old woman, from DeLand in Florida, USA, somehow convinced her boyfriend, Jeremy Floyd (39), that their dog needed to be taken to the vet. At DeLand Animal Hospital she slipped a note asking for help to one of the veterinary staff, Metro reports.

“Call the cops, my boyfriend is threatening me. He has a gun. Please don’t let him know,” the hand-written note said, according to ABC news.

Police were summoned to the animal hospital where they arrested Floyd.

The woman told police officers Floyd had been threatening her with the gun all the way to the animal hospital. He’d also threatened to kill her family.

According to the local sheriff’s office, domestic violence-related charges have been laid against Floyd in the past. This time he was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and possession of a gun by a criminal.

He’s being held without bail at the Volusia county branch jail.
