Grief-stricken American parents are mourning the loss of their two-year-old daughter after she was run over by an ice-cream truck.

The incident took place on 16 September, reports People.

According to Fox 2, little Felicity Noelle Karam (2) was at a party in a nearby home in Wentzille, Missouri, and after the children were taken to get ice-cream cones, the little one was knocked as she crossed the road in front of the vehicle.

Spokesperson for the Wentzville Police Department, Jacob Schmidt, said that the girl was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital, reported the Post-Dispatch.

“It’s a heartbreaking incident,” he said.

“I can’t help but think of my own family and children. It’s sad all the way around,” he added.

Felicity was always very spunky and always had a smile on her face said the little girl’s aunt, Rachel Zeik.

“She was unique and independent,” she added.

Rachel has started a GoFundMe welcoming donations for family funeral expenses and loss of wages because of the tragic incident.

“Please pray and do whatever you can to help, most importantly, prayer,” it read.
