For some 25 years, artist Theo Jansen has been creating large, dreamlike creatures that move about the beach, powered by the elements.
The 70-year-old Dutch creator of these beautiful kinetic sculptures has become known for the deceptively sturdy construction of their delicate frames made from PVC pipes. NASA has even invited Jansen to join think tanks about trips to Venus.
But most of all the artworks simply add joy and wonder to all who see them striding down the sandy shore.
