Maggie Benedict who plays the role of Akhona on popular South African soapie, Generations, has announced her departure from the show. Earlier this week the actress posted on her Facebook fan page saying:
"Sjoe friends, so it's been a minute since I was last on FB. Things have slowed down now, so lets do a quick 30 minute Q & A about my leaving Generations. #ExitInterview. Starting now!"

More comments on the post flooded in. Benedict's responses confirmed that, despite rumours, she was not leaving Generations to join the cast of Isibaya and confirmed that she left her Generations family at the end of March. In one of her responses, she said that " It really has been the best gig and the greatest learning curve of my career."
Here's to new things that we'll just have to wait to see.
