Football legend Matthew Booth has deemed his alleged extramarital affair as nothing but “unfounded allegations”.
Sonia Booth alleged that her husband of 16 years had been having an affair with Bongani Mthombeni-Möller since Valentine's Day this year.
In a statement in response to his wife's allegations of infidelity, Booth said:
Sonia set tongues wagging on Monday after publishing a litany of social media posts, which contain evidence of Booth's affair.

This included receipts from restaurants Booth and his alleged mistress visited. Sonia said she hired a private detective to follow the two on a romantic trip.
The same private investigator attended a meeting between Sonia and Bongani’s husband, taking images of the pair as they discussed their partners’ alleged affair.
“The matter has been handed over to my attorneys, who have been instructed to vigorously take the necessary steps to claim the appropriate relief. I will leave this to the legal system and let the truth prevail in due course,” Booth said.
He also appealed to sponsors to not get involved in a “personal matter”.
“I would like to appeal to Mrs Mthombeni-Möller, the corporates and sponsors who have partnered with the Booth Trust for the advancement of soccer development initiatives not to allow this personal matter to deter the good work that's being done, and that which lies ahead,” he said.
Booth's employer, Supersport, has done exactly this.
Speaking to City Press on Tuesday, SuperSport spokesperson Clinton Van der Berg said they had a conversation with Booth and will be allowing him to deal with his personal affairs privately.
“We have a simple line which we have and that is, SuperSport is aware of the allegations involving Matthew Booth, which are private.”
Van der Berg added that they have been communicating with Matthew and would not be divulging what was discussed.
