A potential lawsuit and the prospect of losing in court due to irregularities in the awarding of the R1.2 billion Western Cape internet tender have forced Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Mondli Gungubele to crack the whip at the State Information Technology Agency (Sita).

City Press has reported that the portfolio committee on communications and digital technologies demanded that Gungubele account for Sita’s decision to award the contract for local area network (Lan) to schools in the province to undeserving bidders.
