But there is no indication yet where the money to rebuild will come from.

“The department is engaging both the provincial departments and National Treasury, and other [stakeholders], to explore funding options for the rebuilding of a new stadium. At the current estimates, the department will not be able to implement the project alone, hence the need for other funding sources,” said Nkosana Mtolo, spokesperson for the sports, arts, culture and recreation MEC, Mbali Hlophe.
