The key command for juvenile gangsters from Braamfischerville in Soweto and Durban Deep in Roodepoort was simple: disrupt mid-year and matric exams at Siyabonga Secondary School to ensure that the pupils fail.

Over the past two years, this has been the modus operandi of the rival gangsters operating in the school. The Waya and Kalawa gangs have been attacking the pupils and teachers during these critical examinations, according to some former members City Press spoke to this week.
