Eskom's Vikesh Rajpaul and Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe share a word after the minister's public criticism of the Komati decommissioning at COP28.
The decommissioning of the Komati coal power station was a "disaster" and did not pass the test of a just transition, Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe told delegates at COP28 on Wednesday.
The minister is participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which is taking place in Dubai, UAE, until 12 December. Mantashe raised concerns over rushing coal decommissioning during a panel discussion hosted at the South African pavilion.
