Green Riders, an eco-friendly delivery solution, wants to create 50 000 jobs for South Africa's youth in the next five years.
Its plan is to roll out e-bikes that make use of a battery-powered pedal assist system - which basically adds extra power behind a pedal - in the delivery industry.
The existing delivery industry, which takes fast food and small goods from restaurants and merchants to customers in South Africa, is dominated by the use of petrol-driven vehicles that pollute the environment, said Tanika Coulson, the training operations manager at Green Riders.
