Mantashe to gazette crucial updated energy plan for public comment after Cabinet approval

After numerous delays, an updated draft plan for South Africa's future energy needs, including timeframes around the decommissioning of older coal power stations, has been approved by Cabinet.

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said at a briefing on Sunday that Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe will gazette the draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) for public comment soon.
