Eskom is yet to provide crucial information for the approval of its nuclear licence from the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR).
On Tuesday, the power utility confirmed that it would need an additional month or two months to complete its tsunami and seismic survey. The seismic study is part of the information the NNR requires in order to complete a review of the licence for Koeberg.
A spokesperson for the NNR, Gino Moonsamy, said on Tuesday that March would be the last possible date for receiving the study if it is to review the application in time before the existing licence expires.
