  • On the road to recovery, Black Coffee is looking forward to setting the dance floor alight again when he returns behind the decks.
  • The Grammy-winning DJ was involved in a "severe travel accident" last month as he made his way to a gig in Argentina.
  • Taking time out to recover, he was last week spotted in attendance at the State of the Nation Address in Cape Town.

As he continues taking time out to recover from a "severe travel accident" last month, internationally acclaimed Black Coffee is looking forward to setting the dance floor alight again when he returns behind the decks.

"I can't wait to be back on the dance floor with you all very, very soon," he said in the caption to a photo of himself, as he continues to recover in Johannesburg.

The Grammy-winning DJ is in the country after he was last month admitted to a Uruguayan hospital following an accident that left him with "severe blows" to his body, while travelling from Brazil to Argentina for a gig.

In the accident, his private plane reportedly made an emergency landing due to severe air turbulence.

"Thank you for respecting my privacy during an intimate and enlightening moment in my life. I've taken this time to recover and take some much-needed time off at home, healing with my family by my side," he continued. "It's been rejuvenating on a handful of levels."

Last week, Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, was spotted in the audience at the State of the Nation Address in Cape Town with his son, Anesu, whom he shares with actor Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

"I'm thankful for the merciful God for giving me yet another chance," he said.

Soon after the accident, Mlotshwa opened up about the behind-the-scenes drama between her and her estranged husband, adding that people should move on as she responded to social media comments stemming from an unrelated post, with the caption 'best thing I've heard this year', that she shared before news of the incident spread.
