- The 23-year-old fan, Ana Clara Benevides Machado, died in Rio de Janeiro of a cardiac arrest on Friday.
- The fan's father told Brazilian media that he was seeking more information regarding her death.
The father of the Taylor Swift fan who died at one of the artist's Brazil concerts has spoken out and is seeking answers regarding his daughter's death.
Weiny Machado is the father of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, the 23-year-old fan who got sick at a Swift concert in Rio de Janeiro, was rushed to a hospital, and subsequently died of cardiac arrest on Friday.
"I lost my only daughter, a happy intelligent girl," Weiny told Brazilian news outlet Folha de S.Paulo.
"She was about to graduate in psychology next April, saving money. I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfil a dream and came back dead."
Weiny added that he wanted to know the truth surrounding his daughter's death.
"I want it to be determined whether they were in fact prohibited from bringing water, whether there was negligence in providing assistance," he said.
He continued:
Due to the fan's death and extreme heat, Swift postponed her concert.

"I'm writing this from my dressing room in the stadium," Swift posted on Instagram on Saturday.
"The decision has been made to postpone tonight's show due to extreme temperatures in Rio."
She added: "The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to and always will come first."
"It's with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight," Swift said in a post on Instagram to her millions of followers earlier on Saturday.
"I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this."
