Though Grammy-winner Tyla's viral Water dance challenge made a splash on social media in 2023, President Cyril Ramaphosa became the latest public figure to jump onto the bandwagon this week.

Ramaphosa's attempt at the Water challenge, which was met with mixed reactions, was captured as he wrapped his Presidential Youth Engagement at Belhar Sports Complex, Western Cape, on Tuesday. His engagement with the youth came ahead of Thursday's State of the Nation Address and as the National Youth Development Agency marked three years since the commencement of the Presidential Employment Stimulus and Youth Employment Intervention, which have reportedly collectively generated more than a million job opportunities and benefitted the youth.

Released in July 2023, Water has enjoyed global popularity and earned Tyla multiple record-breaking achievements.
