A day after the announcement of his exit from SABC 1 weeknight soapie Generations: The Legacy, actor Muzi Mthabela was announced as one of the newest additions to the second season of Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) telenovela My Brother's Keeper.
Making his debut on Friday, 10 May, in episode 15, Mthabela joins the show as Mshengu's (Lindani Nkosi) estranged younger brother.
"The two have a complicated history where they have betrayed and stepped on each other's toes. Mqondisi is the one person that can stand up to Mshengu and does not hold back on any opportunity to have one up on him," a press statement read.
Mthabela's exit from Generations: The Legacy, where he played Nkosiyabo Cele, was announced earlier in the week, but viewers could still look forward to seeing him on the soapie until Wednesday, 5 June.
He was announced last month as a new addition to Ukhozi FM, where he hosts the station's podcast.
Also leaving the long-running show was Ronnie Nyakale (Cosmo Diale), who will grace their screens until Wednesday, 28 August.
"These stalwarts of the show will be on an indefinite hiatus as they pursue other avenues for creative expression. We are sure they will only achieve success as the talent and dedication we have become accustomed to serves them going ahead," another statement read.
As the pair's exit was announced, the show also revealed that Didintle Khunou was joining the show. She was expected to debut in mid-June, playing the role of Tumelo Gcabashe, a high-powered financial expert with links to business and criminal elites.
