Belgium is often referred to as the cultural cockpit of Europe, with Brussels being home to the EU. But its status in cycling is arguably as influential.
The greatest rider ever is a Belgian – Eddy Merckx. Some of the world’s most esteemed races are hosted in Belgium, including the Paris-Roubaix, better known as ‘The Hell of the North.’ And in cyclocross racing, Belgians dominate.
It stands to reason that Belgium would have some very well-developed cycling brands, and one of those has now aligned to servicing South African riders. Ridley was established in 1997 and has become a recognised global cycling brand.
