Every year, the world's wine crowd migrates to Düsseldorf for three days, 10 to 12 March, to attend the world's largest wine trade fair, ProWein. With over 49 000 attendees, South African wine makes up only half of one of the 17 halls of wine producers present from all over the world.

Putting into perspective the size of SA wine's production, last calculated as the 8th largest wine producer in the world and fifth largest 'New World' producer after the USA, Australia, Chile and Argentina.

Making the fact that South African producer DGB was just announced one of the five most successful producers in the world, and the best South African producer overall for the third year running, that much more notable.
