Somerset West: The South African Depression and Anxiety Group’s (Sadag) local support group for people living with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder meets every Monday, alternatively in person (at the Coronation Avenue Methodist church at 18:00) and online. Somerset West: The Money Matters Group meets at the Somerset West United Church, on the corner of Andries and Bright Street, at 10:00. Francois le Clux, financial advisor for Atthoo Financial Wellness, will be welcomed as guest speaker and present a talk on “The value of annuities for you and your family”. Parking is available at the back of the church building and entrance from Bright Street. Gates will open automatically as you approach the entrance. Strand: Die Helderberg-tak van die Vroue-Landbouvereniging (VLV) vergader om 09:30 in die onthaalsaal van die Strand-Noord- gemeente. Dit is ’n kleiner groepie wat interessante sprekers reël, skeppend deelneem en by gemeenskapsprojekte betrokke raak. Die klem sal val op kleredrag vir verskeie geleenthede. Strand: Helderberger and certified artificial intelligence (AI) officer Christiaan Smit will be welcomed as guest speaker at the University of the Third Age (U3A) Helderberg’s monthly meet in the Strand Town Hall at 10:00. Smit, who is a director at the international financial advisory firm Benchmark, will unravel the intricacies of AI in an interesting talk entitled, “Lifelong Learning with AI”. His address will focus on the potential and limitations of AI and he will give practical guidance on how to use this responsibly and effectively to unlock its full value. He says that the audience can expect a clear and insightful explanation of how AI is transforming various sectors and the implications for the future.
