Luyanda Tobigunya of Team Fairtree DP World Cannondale finished fourth overall and first in his class at the 2024 Lourensford Classic mountain-biking challenge on Sunday (21 April). Tobigunya crossed the finish line in a time of 2:22:07, closely followed by his teammate Damon Terblanche (2:24:00), who finished fifth overall. A total of seven riders of the team participated in the race, the first since the gruelling Absa Cape Epic. Most of the riders finished in the top 30 of the 59 km route. Said team manager Chris Norton: “Our next race on the calendar is the 2024 KAP sani2c, where Luyanda and Lihle [Ngidi] finished eighth last year. We are hoping to achieve a top five placing this year. Thanks to our amazing sponsors for all the support and ensuring that we can take part in these events.”
