While using his crutches to assist him, Bonakele Ntshangase (43), a Cradock-based disabled athlete from Boxer Athletics Club (WPA) participated in the World Virtual Run 5km on March 24, and now has set his sights on participating in the ABSA Run Your City Gqeberha 10km on April 7.

As previously reported by Komani-Karoo Express, Ntshangase is determined to live out his dream of participating in the South African Sports Association for the Physically Disabled.

While working hard towards his dream, he recently participated in the World Virtual Run 5km and was able to complete the run in 56 minutes and 51 seconds.

Ntshangase said that his next goal is to participate in the ABSA Run Your City Gqeberha 10km on April 7.

“I want to be the first athlete to cross the finishing line with crutches in less than 2 hours,” said Ntshangase.

He further said that he needed assistance with accommodation and transportation.

“I would appreciate any donations to help me participate in the ABSA Run Your City Gqeberha 10km,” said Ntshangase.
