Every two minutes a child somewhere in the world is diagnosed with cancer, but less than half the World’s children have access to effective care.

This results in that those who survive cancer are often left with the debilitating effects that can impact their physical development and ability to learn. To give children a second chance at life the Malgas Lions Club registered with Cupcakes 4 Kids with cancer to host a Party of Hope.

To host a Party of Hope provides the community an opportunity to make a difference. How? By baking a tray of 24 cupcakes and donating them, which in turn will be sold to the public for a donation of R10 each.

The donations will make a huge difference, with all funds raised used to educate more parents on the early warning signs on childhood cancer with pamphlets being distributed at the Party of Hope.

Sandy Cipriano of Cupcakes for Hope refers to all those who support with the baking of cupcakes as their “cupcake angels” that are those who show much love and passion which is the sweetest way to save a life.

The Malgas Lions Club will be hosting a Party of Hope at the Pick ‘n Pay Ipic Centre on Saturday 4 November at 08:00. All cupcake angels who would want to be involved with this entirely community driven project can contact Lion Marinelle Kilian on 082 255 0005.
