Reader letter: An unexpected visitor

Philna de Villiers of Villiersdorp writes A woodland kingfisher arrived on our farm Jonkersrivier in the Breede Valley in January this year.

Apparently, it was only the second time this species had been recorded in the Western Cape.

More than a hundred birders “flocked” to our farm and it was so much fun to share in their excitement.
