The noose is tightening around Matshela Koko as the Investigating Directorate (ID) secures crucial Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) from Swiss and German authorities, paving the way for local prosecutors to press criminal charges against the former Eskom executive.
It is expected that the MLAs - formal information-sharing agreements - will help the ID finalise dockets and press criminal charges against Koko and others in connection with Eskom's appointment of Swiss-headquartered engineering firm ABB. It concerns a R2.2 billion control and instrumentation (C&I) contract at the Kusile power station in 2015.
