Former Eskom executive and interim chief executive Matshela Koko seemingly oversaw widespread manipulation of official Eskom data around the performance of the country's power stations during his tenure in top jobs at the utility, an extensive data investigation by News24 shows.
The revelations come as the country is in the grips of yet another round of load shedding over the weekend which is expected to continue on Monday and Tuesday night.
Eskom's group chief executive officer, André de Ruyter, and his executive team are scheduled to provide an update on Eskom's system status on Monday, when they are expected to address issues contributing to the current electricity crisis.
