Lebogang Maile has not tried hard to provide any semblance of objectivity regarding the GPF probe, and his diversion from the facts, through ramblings and scapegoating, is painfully transparent, writes Azarrah Karrim.

Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Lebogang Maile twisted himself into knots on Monday afternoon to exonerate his "older brother" Deputy President Paul Mashatile and his son-in-law from any blame related to the Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) probe.

His handling of the release of the GPF report at a press briefing on Monday, following the investigation into loans it granted Mashatile's son-in-law Nceba Nonkwelo's company for work which was never done, could best be described as deeply problematic.
