A decade ago, Phillip de Wet watched Wouter Basson keep an audience in Oudtshoorn spellbound. But most people wouldn't know how good a public speaker he can be, because he is also brand toxic - and not just because of his past.

There is a possible future in which Oscar Pistorius has a career as a public speaker.

It would be a good idea were he to donate a big part of his earnings to anti-femicide initiatives, and he would have to stress - repeatedly - how repentant he is, and how others should learn from his mistakes.
