Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo on Monday delivered a significant blow to former president Jacob Zuma, a man who for years has been able to flummox and beguile the ANC and bend the law to his will.
After he lost his application for Zondo's recusal last week, Zuma and his legal team – led by advocate Muzi Sikhakhane – walked out on the proceedings of the judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture during a tea break.
