With the elections seemingly heading for coalitions, Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke is concerned that instability might lead to fewer clean audits if the administration is not insulated. Maluleke invites Muhammad Hussain to her Johannesburg offices to talk about this and more.

At the end of our interview, Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke seemed slightly embarrassed that I asked about her X (formerly Twitter) handle, which contains the word 'spice' (@tsakanimspice).

It apparently is a family joke with her siblings that revolves around the music group The Spice Girls. She says it was created a while ago, and there's nothing more to it – as she laughs and allows the make-up artist into the office.
