The Multi-Party Charter is a laudable and necessary opposition project seeking to topple the ANC. The numbers, however, don't seem to be in its favour, writes Pieter du Toit.
South Africa is roughly five or six months out from its seventh general election, and there are some generally accepted truths and trends emerging.
First, the ANC is headed for its worst showing at the polls since 1994. Appalling government and governance, mixed with corruption, are the main drivers of its inexorable decline.
