Despite suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's remonstrations the DA is pushing a "false narrative" she was a spy when it questioned witnesses about the involvement of her former employer, the State Security Agency (SSA), during her term, MPs posed several questions about its involvement.
In her affidavits to the Section 194 committee inquiring into her fitness for office, Mkhwebane sought to downplay her links to the SSA, despite a mountain of evidence before the committee.
"Literally from day one or even before day one of my appointment, the DA falsely accused me of being a 'spy'.
