President Cyril Ramaphosa's Anti-Corruption Advisory Council has asked him to delay the promulgation of new party funding law provisions that keep the funding of political parties under wraps.
According to council chairperson Firoz Cachalia, Ramaphosa could postpone the coming into force of the provisions so that existing requirements of the Political Party Funding Act continue to apply.
Cachalia told News24 the council had written to Ramaphosa to express concern only with the sections relating to party funding in the Electoral Matters Amendment Bill.
