Cape Town police seized drugs valued at R2 million from a motorist on the N2 near Sir Lowry's Pass on Friday.
Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani said the Hawks, South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (Saneb) and Crime Intelligence's counter narcotics and gangs unit in the Western Cape received intelligence that a consignment of mandrax was on the way to Cape Town from the Eastern Cape.
Officers spotted a vehicle on the highway, stopped it and conducted a search.
