A teacher, who was among six out of 22 teachers at his school whose contracts were not renewed, has alleged he was sidelined because of comments he made at a staff meeting earlier this year.
Peter Oliver, 53, told staff members at Heathfield High in Cape Town on 18 January he would not stand for corruption after another teacher, who was selected for a post by the governing body, was not appointed.
Oliver was then summoned to a meeting with the Western Cape education department's employee relations directorate on 28 February after being informed it was investigating alleged improper conduct allegations against him.
