In a separate incident on the same day, police raided a hotel room in Marine Drive, Table View, after receiving information about a suspected drug courier hide-out.
They discovered 13 containers (13kg) full of tik (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of R3.2 million.
"No one was in the room. All the tik was confiscated and booked in as exhibits. The Hawks are now investigating the matter and are in pursuit of the suspect," Van Wyk said.
