The "tradition" of initiation at schools in South Africa can sometimes be so extreme that it becomes a form of extensive bullying, leaving victims with severe emotional scars which may never go away.

News24 previously reported on the suspension of six matric pupils at the school hostel after they allegedly sexually assaulted four Grade 8 pupils.
