'It needs to be removed as soon as yesterday': SA Human Rights Commission slams schools' panty checks

Three school websites still indicate the colour of hosiery and underwear that female pupils must wear to class, despite the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) mentioning the institutions in a report last year.

As part of the school uniform requirements, Brackenfell and Bosmansdam primary schools in Cape Town as well as Lorraine Primary School in Gqeberha specify the colour of panties girls should wear to school.

Brackenfell Primary School girls must wear dark blue pantyhose while Bosmansdam prescribes "panties must be navy blue".
