Eric Nzimande, suspended KwaZulu-Natal regional court president, "harassed" an acting magistrate after she rejected his alleged sexual advances, a disciplinary inquiry chaired by retired Supreme Court of Appeal Judge Jeremiah Shongwe has heard.
The inquiry against the 62-year-old, which is being heard in the Point Community Court in Durban, was launched by the Magistrates Commission, following allegations that Nzimande sexually harassed senior female legal practitioners and pocketed at least R238 260 through the sale of acting magistrates' positions.
The money was allegedly received from attorneys he recommended for acting positions between 2012 and 2015.
