Office leases, the appointment of senior officials, and credit applications were thrashed out in public during a Knysna Municipality council meeting on Tuesday.
Councillors, however, retreated behind closed doors to deliberate on the provincial government's plan to save the municipality from service delivery failure.
Western Cape Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning MEC Anton Bredell wrote an urgent letter to the Knysna council, calling on it to hold a special council meeting to adopt its latest diagnostic assessment and accompanying support plan.
