A Zimbabwean tourist, who was travelling to Maputo to visit a friend, found himself at the centre of a massive search operation for a "person of interest" in the disappearance of John Matambu, the beloved skipper of Sodwana.
A satchel, a bit of a limp, and a bike helmet nailed the wanted man, said the tourist, who asked not to be named.
"He stood out like a sore thumb. You could see it from afar. I'm surprised that no one else saw it," the tourist added.
