Metrorail had to close a line between Soshanguve and Mabopane stations in Tshwane on Monday morning after a train experienced a technical fault while en route to Mabopane station.
Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng said the incident occurred outside Soshanguve at around 05:30.
"The technical team, upon attending to the fault by uncoupling the set, experienced a roll back of the set onto the other, causing a collision," she said.

She said Metrorail train services were not affected and added that no further delays were expected.
