About 2 700 displaced foreign nationals have started to return to their Mbekweni homes near Wellington, after they fled on Wednesday due to alleged xenophobic threats.
The alleged threats followed the murder of a woman in the area.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said meetings with the community were held on Thursday, paving the way for some residents' return.
