A Gauteng teacher arrested in 2021 in connection with allegations that he raped a pupil has been axed from his position.
The Umqhele Secondary School teacher was accused of raping the 17-year-old pupil on the school premises in Ivory Park, Midrand.
In a recent ruling, the Education Labour Relations Council said: "This was a brutal sexual attack on a learner by an educator who is supposed to be the protector of the learner in the school environment."
