Eleven people, including two children, died in separate accidents in the Eastern Cape on Monday.
The first accident, on Monday morning, was a head-on collision between a Toyota Avanza, with seven people, and a sedan, with five people, on the R67 route between KwaMaqoma (formerly Fort Beaufort) and Seymour. It left seven people dead.
The Eastern Cape's transport department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the sedan's five occupants died, while the Avanza driver and one passenger died.
