A week since almost 1 000 pupils in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro were left stranded as they waited for their scholar transport in vain, the dispute escalated as parents and pupils in Gqeberha took to the streets in protest on Wednesday.
The scholar transport issues stem from a lapsed contract with the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, which is currently in the process of receiving tenders for these contracts.
