A Krugersdorp supermarket was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money over the weekend.
Video surveillance footage shows three men entering Max Cash & Carry on Ockerse Street early on Saturday morning.
According to the Krugersdorp SAPS’s Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele, the 71-year-old male victim was working in his office when three alleged robbers entered the premises. Two of the men held staff members at gunpoint, while a third accosted the complainant.
"It is alleged that the suspect pointed at him with a firearm and demanded money. He gave the suspects money and they fled the scene in a silver Toyota Corolla with false registration numbers," Mashele told News24.
After numerous attempts to contact representatives of the business in question, an unidentified person speaking on behalf of the owners referred News24 to the police for comment.
The Krugersdorp SAPS is appealing to the community to assist with information that can assist the police in the apprehension of the suspects involved. All information can be forwarded to the Krugersdorp SAPS on (011) 951 1152 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
