Residents of the Sophiatown Neighbourhood Watch believe they recognise the four suspects caught on camera loading stolen goods into a blue VW Golf.

"We have received a lot of information from the community. The suspects are well known in the area and we have their addresses," chairpersonn Dauw Steyn told News24.

Steyn said that all the information had been handed over to police.

"Petty crimes and house break-ins are the most common during the day, because our members have day jobs and mostly patrol in the evenings," he said.

Warrant Officer TJ de Bruyn confirmed that a case of housebreaking and theft had been opened at the Sophiatown police station.

"Police are still investigating all leads, and no arrests have been made yet," he said.
