#SandpaperGate claims more victims: Smith in tears, coach resigns

Cape Town - It's been a long, dark and difficult week for Australian cricket.

A week that kicked off with an ill-advised and ill-disguised attempt at ball-tampering, caught on camera for the world to see.

The incident, dubbed #SandpaperGate marred the third Test against the Proteas at Newlands. 

Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have all been sanctioned and banned from the sport for between nine and 12 months. 

Upon his arrival in Sydney, the disgraced former skipper, Smith, made this heartfelt apology. Watch.
