A California man got the perfect revenge on his nosy neighbours by setting up nude mannequins in his garden – after he was forced to lower his fence.
Jason Windus was forced to reduce the height of his fence or face a fine after a neighbour complained to city officials, Fox News reports.
According to ABC 7, Windus had built the tall fence in order to keep his dogs in his yard. After he was forced to shorten the fence by about 92cm, Windus decided to get revenge by setting up five naked mannequins – some standing and others seated – in full view of his neighbours' homes.
"I don't know who it is and I'm sure they're not going to come forward," Windus said about his protesting neighbours, KTVU FOX 2 reports.
"And even if they do, this is just a statement for them – maybe mind your own business a little bit."
Windus, who owns a moving company, collected the mannequins after cleaning out a clothing store.
"I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. I was going to use them for target practice," he said.
Instead, he used it to get back at the neighbour.
The nude mannequins were accompanied by a sign which read: "Reserved seat for the nosy neighbour that complained about my fence to the city."
"I guess the average person would get angry and cop resentment? I throw a naked party in my yard," Windus said.
Some of Windus' other neighbours seemed to enjoy the mannequin setup, saying it "makes the place more interesting".
